Television Styling Debut on Arizona Midday Show!

Having filled my cup visiting family in London after 3 years apart, I received the best welcome home gift! I was contacted by a producer on Arizona midday, channel 12 news & asked to film a Styling segment on Fall trends! This has been one of my ultimate goals, styling on the telly, doing what I love helping women look and feel their best selves & having fun with it.

From a young age watching my Father an international businessman order suiting, watching him pick out the fabrics, prints & learning about textures & style. Seeing the finished suits and how it elevated his confidence to go out and succeed in business deals began my love for styling that just progressed over time.

Styling has shaped the lifestyle I have today. With 10+ years of experience in luxury styling to becoming a Style & Lifestyle Influencer to partnering with two friends creating our wardrobe Organization company The power of 3 Consulting and lastly, my own styling Company Afi Like Taffy!

Outfit details: Earrings are from Fosterie. Blazer is from River Island Dress is from Collectif Clothing a vintage store & heels are Just Fab.

Upon signing the contract with Arizona Midday I had to get to work and had five days to find 4 models to showcase my styling, a store or boutique that would supply me with clothes for the models and lastly a plan of action to get Telly ready. I reached out to a friend who came through in a big way then contacted stores and for 2 days got no replies…

After putting it out there whilst attending a local networking group The Foundress, literally speaking it out loud! The exercise entailed mentioning a success this week and also a struggle this week & I did. My Success was an offer to style a segment on TV & my struggle was no store had responded to partnering with me for the segment. An hour later I received 3 different offers which I was well chuffed about & relieved! ?

Host of Arizona Midday Vanessa Ramirez & I.

Amy Atelier an 18 years established boutique in old town Scottsdale on Stetson Drive agreed to supply me with clothing, shoes & accessories! Now if you’ve been into the store or seen the inventory you would know it’s a stylists dream come to life! I will forever be grateful for her generosity.

After the boutique was secured everything else just fell into place from selecting models & Styling 4 looks pertaining to Fall trends & different body types. Creating a plan & executing it then finalizing my segment sheet & viola, we did it!!

On the day of shooting, walking into the Channel 12 news Studio was just everything!! I had to hold it together so I wouldn’t start crying. See I’d been into the studio twice before for modeling smiling silently showcasing clothes which I loved! It hit very differently walking in as the authority & talent, not just to be seen but a voice to be heard as well.

Fall trends are the 90’s & early 2000’s are making a comeback. When I was in London a fortnight ago I saw it in all the shops, it felt like I’d gone back in time! I saw puffer jackets, raincoats, equestrian style blazers, corsetry clogs, half moon bags, embellished tops, leather jumpsuits, metallic everything, transparent maxi dresses, waist coats & vests! With that in mind I created my fall looks…

The colors for this Fall season are so regal with Lilac, cobalt blue, burgundy, crimson red, emerald green & a deep blue teal. I’m excited to see more of these jewel tones with a brownish red & fiery red thrown into the mix…

Here are the 4 trending looks for Fall that I pulled from Amy Atelier boutique for these powerhouse models.

Kiley

Kiley is wearing this textured green Essential Antwerp wool coat from Amy Atelier with a coffee brown leather bustier crop top, a throwback to the 90’s & early 2000’s era. This mid- rise, straight leg Mother denim is essential as a staple for the season. Kiley is wearing her own pointy metallic heels, all metallics are trending for the season. All tied together with a black textured Claire V bum bag.
Add these yellow animal print leather tall TORAL boots for cooler weather & another pop of color

Lisa

Lisa is wearing this Vegan chocolate brown Veronica Beard double breasted blazer a key item for the season paired with this Sea Sevyn Midi dress creating a feminine/ masculine juxtaposition which I love! The black slouchy IRO booties with embellished silver studs is an ode to the 90’s early 2000’s era comeback!

All tied together with a black Cult Gaia fan clutch.

Jakaria

Jakaria is wearing this new arrival to Amy Atelier, a John Elliott high low cut cream puffer Jacket, a key piece for Fall paired with a black Vegan leather jumpsuit from Overlover, another throwback to the 90’s early 2000’s era. Jakaria is wearing her own Emerald green booties which is one of the colors of the season. Finishing off with a little dazzle this embellished Cult Gaia Bag.

Tina

This Smythe Citrine blazer was my first item choice when I started creating these looks, this color! Paired with an ivory cowl neckline Bodysuit from Cinq a Sept balanced this look when the textured tweed skirt from IRO was added to the mix. A throwback to the 90’s early 2000’s comeback. These TORAL tall mod boots with the block heel added a retro vibe to this look. Size up as they ran slightly smaller. Finishing Tina’s look with this deep Magenta tote Ampersand as Apostrophe.

This experience is one I will remember for as long as I live. I have so many people to thank & will do so personally. I am grateful, humbled & blessed to have a strong support system. I thank you for reading.?

Catch you next time friends, cheers & best wishes,

Afi Like Taffy
