Happy Happy New Year Lovies!! Christmas was something else with my 9 day flu that transpired into a sinus infection then Bronchitis!? I made it through & am slowly getting back to the old me. My workouts on the other hand have been slightly harder as a runner so I’ve been slowly building back my stamina.??
It was lovely jubbly spending the holidays with my family who live across the street from the Hubster Zack & I. We started out with our annual pub crawl in old town scottsdale heading to the bars Counter Intuitive, Kelly’s at Southbridge then Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers to soak up all that alcoholic tom foolery.? ??
The next night I met up with all my favorite Saks Associates past & present for our annual secret Santa dinner at the Twisted Grove Parlor & Bar in Arcadia. It was great catching up on life, remising about the past & of course gift giving. I got these delicious earrings from my friend Devon which I LOVE!! The waiter tried to rush us a few times as we couldn’t stop chatting but after almost 4 hours we left him in peace! Love my girls!??
We celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve as all the family were together then. Playing games, eating homemade Beef Wellington with all the sides & homemade cannolis’s for dessert was a dream. Just thinking about it now makes my mouth water! Yum! Zack printed out ugly sweaters for everyone in honor of Christmas cheer! Here we are showing how we Maita’s roll.????
The new year had us toasting it with Chinese food from Uber Eats & renting movies. It was relaxing which was ideal as I had to work the next day & was getting ready for my brother’s visit later that week. Haruna came to visit us from West, Africa, Nigeria which was such a treat for 3 days! I know what your thinking 3 days is too short to come from such a long way away right?? I certainly thought so & shared it with him but I’ll take what I can get. It’s strange being absent from someone you’ve known your whole life then seeing them all of a sudden again, constantly, picking up like no time has passed at all. It was just golden. We spent some good quality time getting to know each other again, going out for lunches & dinners & I even made him my famous gluten free lasagna.☺️ Despite my brothers accomplishments he’s still the awkward boy I laughed at & who wouldn’t let me play with him & his friends (because I secretly fancied one of them).?Love you brov!
Haruna was heading to New Jersey after his visit then Miami, London then back home to Nigeria. What a life!
This year i’ve Made a pledge to myself to be more aggressive in going after what I want, figuring it out if I meet any road blocks & just going for it. Make a pledge to yourself it feels good!
Catch you next time lovies!
Cheers & Best Wishes,
